SoBe Calm is Having a Cocktail Party

When we introduced SoBe Calm’s “Non-Surgical Face Lifts” to Miami, our signature microcurrent treatments generated lots of local—ahem—buzz. And while you’d think it would be hard to improve upon a spa service that takes years off your face during a single, pain-free session…we have!
What’s different? We’ve tweaked several aspects of the treatment to maximize results for our clients, but the most significant difference comes as a result of using the new bt-Cocktail Ultimate ATP Synthesis product system alongside the microcurrent technology.
Voted “Product of the Year” by Day Spa Magazine, the three-part bt-Cocktail energy system has been shown to increase production of ATP—the main source of energy for cells—by as much as 67%. In turn, increased ATP production promotes younger- and healthier-looking skin, refines pores, and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The results are so dramatic that if we didn’t have announcements to make and customers to tend to, we’d still be in front of the mirror admiring our reflections!
Don’t believe us? Google away. Thirty-day efficacy studies performed with ATP confirm the following results:
· 62% increase in skin moisture
· 67% reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
· 42% improvement in skin texture
And independent studies performed with the complete bt-Cocktail formula showed a 40% reduction in fine wrinkles.
Now how often are you going to find cocktails that make you look better? Call us at (305) 531-5994 to book your lift now.
Meet Simone, SoBe Calm's New Massage Therapist

Knotty by nature? Come visit SoBe Calm’s newest massage therapist, Simone.
A native of Mississippi and a graduate of the Florida College of Natural Health, Simone first discovered her talent for massage therapy at the age of five, when she helped alleviate her father’s lower back pain by walking on his back. Inspired by a high school teacher who was transitioning into massage therapy full time, Simone enrolled at the Florida College of Natural Health, where she earned her A.S. degree in Advanced Massage Therapy, along with a certifications in Neuromuscular and sports massage therapies, and graduated at the top of her class. Upon graduation, Simone worked at a wellness clinic and two luxury spas: the Williams Island Spa & Tennis Club and Canyon Ranch Miami Beach.
This month, SoBe Calm scooped her up and enlisted her to join the team. Step into her treatment room, and you’ll want to maker her a part of your family too!
What puts her massages in a class that other therapists just can’t touch? Simone has excellent tactile skills and is easily able to differentiate between the different types of tissue: skin, inflammations, scar tissue, adhesions, knots and fascia (a layer of fibrous tissues that surrounds your muscles, bones, organs, nerves and blood vessels). This skill for palpitation—a technical term for using the sense of touch to physically examine the tissues of the body—allows her to locate the trigger points associated with muscle pain and alleviate or eliminate the stress by applying pressure.

Exercise Matte: Caring for Your Skin at the Gym

Tatum's Tip: At the gym...don’t wear makeup.
Why? Sweat alone can aggravate your skin (which is why it’s usually a good idea to wash your face with an anti-bacterial cleanser immediately after a workout); when sweat mingles with makeup and runs all over your face, you’re even more likely to wind up with clogged follicles and an eventual acne breakout.
Tatum's Trick: A tinted moisturizer can provide some coverage, as well as hydration and SPF. (And if you’re working out hard enough, you should get a nice, natural flush anyway!) Can’t skip the makeup altogether? Wear non-comedogenic, waterproof makeup containing zinc, and wear as little of it as possible.
Tatum’s Tools: Jane Iredale Dream Tint. This tinted moisturizer from “the skin care makeup” will not only mask imperfections, but it also hydrates, prevents water loss, calms inflammation and improves the skin's elasticity.
Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mineral Foundation or PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation. These pressed and loose mineral foundations are a foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one. The water-resistant formula means the product (and bacteria!) will stay put as you sweat.
Bonus Trick: When you reach for the towel to wipe away that sweat, make sure you blot the skin lightly. Don’t dab too hard or wipe the towel all over your face because you’ll spread bacteria and clog your skin follicles.
Summer Skin: Night-time Care

Tatum's Tip: At night...hydrate.
Before going to sleep, introduce as much as moisture as your skin will take.*
Why? Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it heals and repairs itself while you sleep. Because air conditioning can rob the skin of moisture (thus prompting excess oil production), hydrating is especially important if you're planning to crank up the AC at night, as most of us do during the summer.
Tatum’s Tricks: Prevent dehydration by applying a drop or two of a high-quality essential oil before going to bed. Because they're absorbed into the bloodstream, essential oils deliver oxygen and nutrients directly to your cells, which is just what your skin needs as it's trying to repair itself. If you have oily skin, the essential oils can also prevent future oil production in your skin follicles before it even starts. (Notes: Women who are pregnant or nursing should avoid essential oils. Always perform a patch test to check for allergies before using an essential oil.)
Tatum’s Tool: Xango Pericarp Oil. This natural, non-greasy essential oil comes from the essence of the mangosteen plant—the latest craze in the superfruit world. Both anti-septic (read: bacteria-killing) and anti-inflammatory (it helps reduce redness), Xango’s pericarp oil is useful for toning, spot treatment, balancing and soothing skin, and stimulating collagen production to promote a more youthful appearance.
*Knowing how much hydration is too much is a trial-and-error process. If you are moisturizing too much, you’ll know—you’ll break out. If this happens, take the hydration down a notch or two by switching to a lighter product or a lesser amount.
